A Safe Positive Place
I am a clinical psychologist. My approach to therapy includes gently guiding and challenging individuals to help achieve goals. I have a general structure for individual sessions that guide the treatment course overall, however, I maintain the flexibility to change directions to treatment as our lives are ever-changing. I focus on the daily application of empirically based modalities and explore what is truly important in one’s life. If there is anything to take away from our sessions, it is- change is possible in a safe positive space.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is an empathic collaborative process within the framework of utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, I have a passion for Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy.
My focus
I have experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and presentations. This may include experiences of depression/anxiety, relationship concerns, health adjustments, identity to neurodiversity acceptance.
My communication style
At the beginning of our sessions, I will get to know you and your needs by actively listening to your concerns. As sessions progress, you will notice my communication style can be described as empathetic, attentive, and nonjudgmental. As we all feel stuck at times in our lives, I have a firm believe we can truly explore our life’s challenges as humans if we feel heard.
My journey to mental healthcare
As a South Asian/Middle Eastern female, my clinical work is influenced by my own cross-generational and intersectionality. My experiences of being part of several marginalized groups have influenced my ability to view the complexity of the world we live in today. This also shaped my interest from a young age to help others be heard and accepted for who they are.
My goals for you
I approach goals collaboratively. It is important to have a start and end point for treatment. Additionally, it is essential to continue to check in periodically if therapy is providing the desired change an individual came in seeking.
My first session with you
In our first session, I will get to know you and your unique experiences. I will ask you questions and focus on inquiring about your goals.
